The abatement of particulate matter in gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines requires the use filters. In turn, optimisation their regeneration is based on a deep knowledge soot oxidation behaviour. determination intrinsic kinetic parameters GDI explored thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and reaction rate modelling. New understanding provided enabling an accurate prediction wide range temperature O2 concentration. Firstly, dependence order boundary conditions discussed. Arrhenius equation reveals variable order. It leads to consider effect mass transfer adsorption (Langmuir Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherms) as limiters. Combined with approach, ability proposed model assessed extended isothermal non-isothermal TGA experiments.
